Adam grew up in Colorado Springs, played Junior A ice hockey in Billings, Montana (go Bulls!), and attended St. John’s University in Minnesota (go Johnnies!). After volunteering for a year on an organic farm in Pennsylvania, he got his PhD in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado. He then spent three years as a post-doctoral fellow in the Philosophy Department at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. In 2009, he took a job at the University of North Texas where he is currently an Associate Professor of Philosophy and Religion. In 2011, he formed and served as chair of the Denton Stakeholder Drilling Advisory Group. He is now a member of the non-profit Denton Drilling Awareness Group, which led the successful Frack Free Denton campaign to ban hydraulic fracturing in the city limits of Denton, TX in 2014. He is lucky to be married to Amber, and he is the proud dad of M.G. and Lulu. And he is the author of A Field Philosopher’s Guide to Fracking.
